CAUTION: Faces

Ever wonder what it's like to work for a microbrewery in Denver? Well, we asked our beertenders, sales reps and brewers some questions about all that and this is what they said.

Ben (aka Snow) - Beertender Extraordinaire

Ben

Q1: What do you like most about working for CAUTION?
"The scene here in Colorado is one of the best in the country and I'm thankful to be a part of the industry. It's been cool to see Caution grow so much even since I've come on board."

Q2: What do you like to do outside of work?
"I do my fair share of hanging out at other breweries and craft beer bars, but I also love music. There's a lot of great music venues and record stores in Denver."

Q3: What is your other favorite other brewery in Denver and why?
"The list of legitimately quality breweries in Denver is long. That last wave of new breweries starting about a year ago included some of my favorites, like Spangalang, Call to Arms, and Cerebral to go along with the other several that really enjoy."

Q4: What is your favorite beer in the world and why?
"There are too many world class beers for me to definitively say, but for the sake of giving an answer I'm gonna go with Aecht Schlenkerla Märzen today."

Q5: Who is your role model, and why?
"Abraham Lincoln, because he looks like a stud on my socks."

Q6: What movie or TV-show best describes your life?
"The Lady in the Van"

Q7: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
"X-ray vision to see through a solid metal windshield."

Q8: Do you have any super-human powers, and if so, what?
"I have a sidekick chimpanzee named Ro Sham Beaux who enforces order when things get out of hand in the van."

Q9: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
"Definitely human. 'Cos we're at the top of the food chain like a boss."

Q10: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
"Bojangles"

Nikki (aka Intentionally Difficult) - Beertender Extraordinaire

Devin

Q1: What do you like most about working for CAUTION?
"My guests! I really love the interactions I have with my guests, learning about everyone and sharing parts of myself with them. Building connections and relationships is truly a joy."

Q2: What do you like to do outside of work?
"I love visiting my friends at breweries around town, my favorite bartenders around town.... Hell, I just really enjoy bars. Beyond that, I spend time volunteering with a local at-risk youth literacy program called Burning Through Pages and I also volunteer with the Colorado version of Burning Man called Apogaea."

Q3: What is your other favorite other brewery in Denver and why?
"Hard to say! So many wonderful breweries across the whole city are doing such amazing things. Maybe River North Brewery, because their beer is always on point and they're my friends (and I worked there for 2 years). Maybe TRVE because they're a pile of bad asses making wonderful beer. I really enjoy what Goldspot and Little Machine are up too as well."

Q4: What is your favorite beer in the world and why?
"Probably Deschutes 'Abyss'. Deep, rich flavors blend well together while also standing on their own. Currently, I have a 5 year vertical of these in my beer cellar."

Q5: Who is your role model, and why?
"My cat, Buddha. He sleeps all day, gets to do whatever he wants and everyone loves him for it. Also he purrs, which is cool and still not exactly understood by science."

Q6: What movie or TV-show best describes your life?
"Cheers."

Q7: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
"Mindbulliets! That's telekinesis, Kyle."

Q8: Do you have any super-human powers, and if so, what?
"I'm a super-taster. That is, I have to taste anything put in front of me."

Q9: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
"A domestic dog. You get to go everywhere with your favorite people and still get to nap whenever you see fit."

Q10: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
"Probably New Zealand. It's gorgeous. Maybe Belgium, because the beer is incredible. Maybe Scotland, for scotch and whiskey (which is my other great love besides beer)."

Scott (aka Scotch of All Trades) - Brewer

Scott

Q1: What do you like most about working for CAUTION?
"I get to brew beer for a living in a cool, creative environment filled with awesome people. What's not to like?"

Q2: What do you like to do outside of work?
"When I'm not making beer, I'm usually drinking beer. Or reading about beer. Sometimes, I watch movies. Some of the movies are not about beer."

Q3: What is your other favorite other brewery in Denver and why?
"Station 26, no doubt. As much as I like messing around with styles and ingredients, sometimes I just want a solid, straightforward, expertly brewed beer. Station 26 does that like no other brewery."

Q4: What is your favorite beer in the world and why?
"My favorite beer is always the one I'm drinking. It's in my hand and quenching my thirst. Also making me drunk. Which is nice."

Q5: Who is your role model, and why?
"Philip J. Fry. He got to go to the future and have space adventures. And he has a hilariously vulgar robot buddy that's also a brewery. And he did it all by accident. He's my hero."

Q6: What movie or TV-show best describes your life?
"Die Hard. I swear, if one more group of terrorists ruin Christmas for me, I'm gonna scream. And then blow everything up."

Q7: If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
"Shapeshifting. It would make identity theft really easy."

Q8: Do you have any super-human powers, and if so, what?
"I have nearly bottomless levels of recall when it comes to useless bits of trivia. I'm also an excellent driver."

Q9: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why?
"A honey badger. I would look badass (two-tone FTW!), and no one would mess with me. Plus, insanity. Sweet."

Q10: If you could go anywhere in the world right now, where would you go?
"Belgium. I love Belgian beer, and I would spend as much time as I could enjoying them on home turf. I'd probably even write some things down so I could remember something about the experience afterward."
